Joschi looked after all aspects of my potential hire providing detailed information and regular communication about my forthcoming trip. He was quick to reply, answered all of my questions and could not have done more to source a Scott CR1 for me on my holiday even though it was a bit of a late request.
I also met others at our hotel who hired from Martinbike and had nothing but positive reports of the service offered. In the end a back injury prevented me from hiring a bike as planned from Martinbike, however I'd have no hesitation in recommending them based on my pre-holiday experiences. This is a wonderful part of the world, very mountainous but incredibly beautiful. Visited Elounda and Agios Nikolaus. A great place to cycle and Martinbike are the supplier I'd choose if hiring a bike.

I would definitely recommend hiring from MARTINBIKE. Fantastic service and I loved the climbs (it is mountainous), and the very quiet roads both on the climbs and in the mountains. I rented a road bike from here, it was a Scott CR1, in almost new condition and it was great. The bike came with everything I needed to be self sufficient for minor adjustments and dealing with punctures.
Pick up and drop off was easy, service was friendly and they gave out maps with local rides which where excellent. Once off the main roads the mountain roads around Elounda are very quiet, there are plenty of small villages to replenish water bottles and the views are stunning. Locals are friendly and inquisitive about why we cyclists think its a good idea to cycle in hot climates, best to go out early but the breeze on the coast helps keep you cool.Elounda, Crete. Hotel Sunlight is right on the main road on way into Elounda. It is so easy to find.
